Clinical Supervision
Online Study Group
CFC faculty member, Kelly Matthews-Pluta, MSW, will provide online clinical supervision to family therapists in small groups. The group will meet online monthly via video conferencing available at zoom.us. The next session is TBD
Each small group will be conducted as a Bowen theory Study Group where Family Systems Theory is discussed and applied, using Family Evaluation by Michael E. Kerr and Murray Bowen. The first 30 minutes of each session will be spent discussing the assigned book chapter, followed by two 45-minute clinical case presentations by participants. Each participant in the study group is expected to present cases at several meetings.
The ideal candidate for participating would have some understanding of Bowen Theory. They may have read Bowen material, attended meetings or conferences at Bowen centers, and/or attended a Post Graduate Training Program. The focus of the study group will be greater understanding and clinical application of Bowen theory.
Clinical Supervision Online Study Group was just what I was looking for and needed. I have been a practitioner of Bowen Family Systems Theory for twenty years. As I apply the theory to my work as a parish priest and clinical social worker I longed for supervision from an experienced therapist. This online group was perfect. Kelly Matthews understands the theory and its application well. From her I learned more about the theory and was able to apply that to my work. I enjoyed exploring the theory with other members of the group and learning from them too. It was interactive and engaging.

Thank you so much for the online supervision program you provided. Having recently moved out of the Chicago area, I feel lucky you provided this opportunity in a distance format. I gained so much from your expertise and experience in Family Systems Therapy and Thinking! I also appreciate the direction to the many resources you mentioned. You created a comfortable learning environment to match my style of learning. Thank you!
