Lisa Moss, LCSW was first introduced to Bowen theory in a class in graduate school. Though her training was psychodynamic and focused on the individual, systems thinking always made sense. Social work training is grounded in understanding people in a bio-psycho-social framework and Bowen theory was a good fit with her training as a social worker.
As a clinical social worker, Lisa works with clients to reduce anxiety by identifying the patterns that have created problems and stress in their lives and formulating plans for change. Lisa believes change is possible at any age or stage of life.
Through work experience and continuing education, Lisa has studied and learned about marriage, family, relationship patterns, sibling behavior, and human behavior for the past 18 years. She works with adults, couples and families.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas and received a Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University, Chicago in 1993. Lisa has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1995, practicing in a variety of settings including a hospital, community-based agency and private agency.
In 2007, she completed the two-year post-graduate training program in family systems theory at the Center for Family Consultation in Evanston. In 2013, Lisa joined the CFC faculty. Lisa is committed to learning, practicing, testing and teaching Bowen theory both in her clinical practice and in her role as a member of the faculty of CFC.
